Mana Ashida cast in movie "Hoshi no Ko"

Ashida Mana to be lead in movie "Hoshi no Ko" directed by Omori Tatsushi. Based on Imamura Natsuko's novel. Directed by Tatsushi Omori (“Tada’s Do-It-All House“). For the film, Mana Ashida will play young teen Chihiro.

This movie is about when Chihiro (Mana Ashida) was a baby, she suffered from eczema. Her parents tried to find a cure, but nothing worked. Her father’s co-worker then gave him some water from a strange religious group. Chihiro was miraculously cured by the water. Her parents began to follow the strange religion and became fervent followers. Chihiro is now in the 3rd grade of middle school and she faces changes in her life.

Filming for “Hoshi no Ko” takes place from December, 2019 to January, 2020. “Child of the Stars” is expected to be released sometime later in 2020.
